The Exzellenzcluster NeuroCure focuses on understanding how the brain functions, particularly how billions of neurons process, relay, and store information. Led by neuroscientist Prof. Matthew Larkum at Humboldt University, the research combines clinical and basic science from Charité and university teams. Using innovative methods to study brain activity, Larkum and his team work long hours in the lab to uncover mechanisms that could inform new diagnoses and treatments for neurological and psychiatric disorders.
